BUILDING

~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~

Below are a collection of pictures showing the building of Sams Beach Shack for

2009/2010 season.

The pictures were taken by Allan and Carol Rowlands,

Steve and Jude Norcott and Ron and Silvia Cole.

Main frame 2009/2010.

Large bamboo poles form the main support and define the shape of the finished shack.

Working into the night.

Much of the hard work building the Shack is done in the night.

The work goes on.

It is cooler in the night and there are fewer people around.

work progresses quickly.

with fewer distractions the main frame is soon completed.

Sam checks progress.

Sam checks on how the build is going, but he trusts his team to do a good job and they do.

High up on the roof.

Tying in support for lights etc. Thats Shaik in the for ground.

Business as usual.

As the shack takes shape it is busness as usual.

Quite early morning.

The heavy work is done in the night.

And now for the roofing.

Preparing to cover the main fraim.

Some welcome shade.

Once the mainframe has its covering, there is welcome shade, not only for the visitors but also for the lads building it!

And now some waterproofing!

A waterproof covering is necessary, there can be some quite heavy showers early or late season!

We need some shade!

The lads create some temporary shade while the building work continues.

Work and leisure side by side.

She shade attracts some visitors for a cold beer, and in the background palm branches ar used as the final layer of cover for the shack.

A bit more tidying to do!

Some more tidying up of the outside, but it's getting there.

Everyone lends a hand.

All of Sam's team have a part to play in the building of the shack.

Nearly there.

Visitor's eagerly await Sams Beach Shacks completion.

Finishg touches.

Finishing off the inside.

Sam's Beach Shack 2009/2010.

That's it!

Ready for business!

Some of Sam's team ready to serve.
